Chelsea & Bob: Rustic Chic Wedding at Salem Cross INn

Chelsea and Bob’s wedding was our very first time at The Salem Cross Inn and we loved it. They had the whole place to themselves, a beautiful barn wedding with fancy touches and relaxing vibes.

This was a wedding day where I felt as though the job of a photographer was so, so important, and not just in the taking photos sense. But of what my presence was adding to the moments.

When I walked in the door, everything was super chill, almost too quiet. I knew from talking with Chelsea prior to the wedding day that she wanted a fun, carefree and connected vibe with her people throughout her wedding day. I took care of the detail photos I needed in another room and then quickly got myself back up to the getting ready suite where I began to engage with her and her bridesmaids. Asking questions that would bring some excitement to the air.

How did they know Chelsea? What’s a fun memory they have together?

You can learn a lot about the people in front of your lens with a few simple questions and I truly think those interactions help to make everyone feel comfortable in front of my camera, as well as with my presence capturing their candid interactions. I want to see the laughter between everyone, I want to see the love and the tears, it’s all a beautiful part of the story.

I had so much fun getting to know Chelsea throughout her wedding day, at the end I was genuinely sad to be leaving her. And I truly hope one day we can have lunch together and chat about life.

Xo,

Jules
