A Favorite Part iii

Ohhh my favorites. . . they could tell stories. So let's tell one! Jessica & Jerry were one of our "Covid Couples". I don't love labelling them as that, but it's true. They were engaged and had their wedding planned BEFORE the pandemic and then postponed to get married later when things were a bit more "settled".

They worked hard to make sure they didn't lose any of their vendors. Let me tell you how much we vendors appreciate that, it's huge. We get emotionally invested in you, and your story and helping you tell it. When the pandemic ripped those pages apart it was rough trying to glue them back together and have all the ones you wanted to be there make it. Vendors AND FAMILY included.

One beautiful day in July we were reunited with this bright couple and when I tell you it felt like being with old friends I am not lying. We'd spent countless time emailing and talking on the phone, getting everything right. But we hadn't seen each other in person since our engagement session, PRE covid. And that session was a great time, so I had been looking forward to their wedding for quite some time.

I'll fast forward my gushing to this particular photo because it was one I was never expecting. When you enter a wedding day you know there are photos you need to capture. It's a mental check list we have and we go about capturing those moments with honesty to each couple, not forcing it to be a certain way because that's how it's always done. No, no, quite the opposite. We try to capture those things in new light each time.

This photo made me pause and literally say, "oh FUN!". It's a bit unconventional, and weird but it's captivating. You stop and think, wow, where is she? What is she looking at? How is she upside down?

Shot through the ceiling mirror of their party bus as she looked upon guests ascending the stairs to her ceremony my beautiful bride caught my breath. I'll forever cherish her love and trust in us as photographers, allowing us the freedom to create art and capture images full of heart and fun. We say it a lot, but you should have a great time when your photo is being taken, wether it's during your portrait session or while you're laughing and crying through speeches. The photos are here to enhance your day and capture all that beautiful emotion.

I look forward to having this joy of life in front of our camera again! Much love,

Jules
